Discover the fascinating world of truffle farming at Queensland’s largest truffle farm with our year-round guided tours. This unique experience begins with a short, scenic walk through the paddock, where you’ll learn about the delicate and fascinating process of truffle cultivation. As you stroll through the truffière you’ll be surrounded by the majestic oak trees that provide the perfect environment for these precious fungi to thrive.
Truffle farmers Maple or Ben will guide you through the history of the farm and the steps involved in growing truffles. Gain first-hand knowledge of the intricate methods and conditions required to grow truffles in our unique Queensland climate. As you walk through the paddock, you’ll have the opportunity to ask questions, whether you’re curious about the soil, the growing process, or the unique partnership between oak trees and truffles.
At the conclusion of the tour, you’ll head to the charming Truffle Cottage, where you can relax and unwind with a grazing platter showcasing a selection of fresh local produce and locally made truffle products while enjoying panoramic views of the river and the serene countryside. The fresh, country air and peaceful surroundings will make for a truly relaxing experience, perfect for appreciating the beauty of the landscape.
The experience is family-friendly, with children under 12 invited to join for free, making it a wonderful day out for the whole family. Dogs are welcome to join you on the farm, though they are not permitted to enter the truffle paddock to ensure the integrity of the growing environment. Guests will also be required to wash their shoes before entering the truffière, so it is advised to wear shoes that you don't mind getting a little wet.
Tours start at 9:30 AM and last about an hour, offering the ultimate paddock-to-plate experience. Fresh truffles will only be available for purchase during the peak harvest months of July and August subject to availability.
